August marks the return of Indigo, with a relaxed evening at Goldbrick House.

July saw Indigo bring its charm to Pride Bristol where we hosted the hugely successful VIP area with our friends from the men’s networking group Members.  We had a wonderful day, meeting and greeting lots of new and friendly faces, and wish to say a huge thank you to the team of fabulous hosts and to Pride Bristol for inviting us to be part of the event.  With such a brilliant reception from women on the day, Indigo nights look set to be even busier!

Looking forward, our relaxed August event features a rather special visit from the female LGBT liaison team at Avon & Somerset Constabulary.  An informal drop-in, the LGBT liaison officers are simply women within the police force, who care passionately about the LGBT community, and take on extra work on a voluntary basis to ensure that our opinions are heard.

From the Indigo perspective, anyone that proudly wears a rainbow ribbon whilst patrolling some of the toughest parts of the city is worth a few minutes of our time.  The female officers will say a few words at the beginning of the evening and answer any questions you might have. Fans of DCI Sam Murray (Lip Service) will be glad to hear that we’ve requested they attend in uniform.

We’re expecting a busy night, so if you’ve never been before, August would be the perfect month to take the dip. We have plenty of newbies that attend each month, with many women coming on their own to sample the unique and friendly atmosphere.

Suzanne Doyle (Organiser, Indigo Bristol) said
‘Indigo Bristol creates a welcoming space, in the plush and cosy surrounds of Goldbrick House, where women can socialise and offer relaxed business, social and networking opportunities. We’re happy to have the LGBT liaison team drop by, we think it’s a really positive scheme from Avon & Somerset Police and like to work with organisations to promote diversity. We enjoy supplementing the drinks socials with short appearances from high quality speakers & performers’
