'Politics of Exclusion' - A film workshop in support of LGBT History Month

The following is an LGBT History month event being put on by Bristol City Council.

'Politics of Exclusion' - A film workshop in support of LGBT History Month
Date: Monday, February 9 2009
Time: 17.30 to 19.00

Venue: Bedminster Library Conference Room. Free parking available for up to three hours at ASDA car park nearby.

Elspeth Kydd, senior lecturer in film studies at University of the West of England, will present a workshop on the video 'Lick Bush in '92' (1993).The documentary follows the LGBT-rights activist Joan Jett Blakk's "camp-pain" for the presidency of the USA.

The workshop will cover:
- The role of video in supporting LGBT-civil rights activism
- A comparison between UK and US cultural and legal LGBT-rights campaigns
- Moving towards the politics of inclusion

Attendees: The capacity of the event is 15 people. For people aged 16 years and over.

Cost: Free for attendees
